Pastor Chris Oyakhilome was born December 7, 1963, in Edo State in Nigeria. He was raised in a religious family with loving, dedicated parents. He was the oldest of four children of the elder T.E Oyakhilome, one of the first pioneers of the Assemblies Of God Church in Benin City, and Angelina who is the matriarch of the Oyakhilome family who imprinted her faith in God's grace upon her son from a young age.
The LoveWorld ministry includes the entire family. His brother, Reverend Ken is the renowned pastor of Christ Embassy's Houston, Texas Church and a member of Christ Embassy Central Executive Council as well as his sister, KattyWorghiren, is the director of the LoveWorld Music and Arts Ministry (LMAM), which houses a variety of world-class gospel artists.
Pastor Chris is blessed with two daughters, Charlene and Carissa Sharon. Carissa Sharon is following her father's footsteps of sharing God’s Word to the world. In addition, she is known as CSO her name, she is a talented, award winning gospel artist and is a part of LoveWorld Music and Arts.
Pastor Chris Oyakhilome studied at Edo College before winning a scholarship to pursue a degree in architecture at Bendel State University, known in the present as Ambrose Ali University, where the student earned an BSc in Architecture. He also received an honorary Doctor of Science award. He also holds an honorary doctorate of divinity from Benson Idahosa University. He was at Ambrose Ali University when he received his call from God to become a minister and serving the Lord.

The Man of God began what would later become one of the largest church congregations in the world when the man was still a student at the university. He had an unassuming prayer group known as "Youth for Christ," which later grew into one of the most well-known groups of its kind on campus. It would later serve as the foundation of the future Christ Embassy and LoveWorld Incorporated with millions of followers around the world.
Pastor Chris directed the LoveWorld ministry to become a pioneer in satellite television and Christian television programming and production. LoveWorldSAT was the first Christian television station to broadcast out of Africa to the the world, 24 hours a day, all the time on free-to-air channels. There are LoveWorld television stations on cable and satellite networks all over the globe.
Christ Embassy has a strong presence in Pastor Chris's home country of Nigeria. The ministry operates two Healing Schools based in South Africa. These schools are where Pastor Chris organizes sessions during the season which allow miracles to happen.
Music as well as Gospel Music are also an essential part of worship. Pastor Chris encourages Christ Embassy Churches to have a choir trained by the Loveworld Music and Arts Ministry and under the direction and direction of Pastor Chris Oyakhilome many of these musicians go on to pursue successful solo career.
